Baseball Recap: Gallatin County Hawks vs. Goreville Blackcats
Gallatin County lost against Goreville back in March of 2024, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Monday. Gallatin County took a 9-4 hit to the loss column at the hands of Goreville. The Hawks have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
Grant Jackson made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and scored a run while going 3-for-4. The team also got some help courtesy of Talan Smith, who scored a run while going 2-for-3.
Gallatin County's loss dropped their record down to 2-4. As for Goreville, they have been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 6-4 record this season.
Gallatin County will be playing in front of their home fans against Pope County at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Pope County has struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 11.17 runs per game on average), something Gallatin County will no doubt try to take advantage of. As for Goreville, they are taking a road trip to take on Cobden at 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday.
