Tri-Village is 10-0 against Newton Local since January of 2017 and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Thursday. Newton Local is hoping to do what Tri-County North couldn't on Thursday: put an end to Tri-Village's winning streak, which now stands at three games. Tri-Village breezed by Tri-County North to the tune of 60-20. Given the Patriots' advantage in MaxPreps' Ohio basketball rankings (they are ranked 152nd, while the Panthers are ranked 486th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Meanwhile, there's no place like home for Newton Local, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Saturday. They blew past Calvary Christian 68-14 on Monday. That 54 point margin sets a new team best for the Indians this season.

Tri-Village's win was their fifth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 5-2. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 57.4 points per game. As for Newton Local, they are on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four matches, which provided a nice bump to their 3-3 record this season.

Everything came up roses for Tri-Village against Newton Local when the teams last played back in December of 2023, as the team secured a 59-26 victory. The rematch might be a little tougher for Tri-Village since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
