Softball Recap: Broadwater Academy Extends Winning Streak to Three

Broadwater Academy had to skate by with only a one-run margin when they last took the field, which might have inspired the 13-run drubbing they dealt Chincoteague on Wednesday. Broadwater Academy blew past Chincoteague 13-0. The Vikings' victory was nothing new given the team hasn't lost yet this season.

Miranda Smith was incredible, going a perfect 4-for-4 with three runs, four RBI, and one triple. The team also got some help courtesy of Kacey Ford, who scored two runs and stole two bases while getting on base in three of her five plate appearances.

Smith wasn't the only one working in the hit department: Broadwater Academy kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 15 hits. That's the most hits they've posted since back in April of 2024.

Broadwater Academy's win bumped their record up to 3-0.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Broadwater Academy will welcome Greenbrier Christian Academy at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday. Greenbrier Christian Academy's pitching crew has only allowed 3.2 runs per game this season, so Broadwater Academy's hitters will have their work cut out for them. As for Chincoteague, they will challenge Parkside at 4:00 p.m. on Friday.
