Baseball Recap: Twin Valley Extends Winning Streak to Three

Twin Valley took a seven-run defeat the last time they faced off against Kutztown, but this time they managed to keep it close and that made all the difference. The Raiders skirted past the Cougars 5-3. The victory was familiar territory for the Raiders, who have now won three games in a row.

Brody Majeski made a big impact no matter where he played. He pitched seven innings while giving up just one earned (and two unearned) runs off six hits. He has been consistent for a while: he hasn't given up more than one walk in nine consecutive appearances. He was also solid in the batter's box, going 2-for-4 with one stolen base, two RBI, and one run. That's the most RBI he has posted over his last ten matchups.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Luke Raines, who went 2-for-4 with two stolen bases and two runs. He has become a key player for Twin Valley: the team is undefeated when he posts at least two stolen bases, but 7-8 otherwise. Tyler Rhode also deserves some recognition as he snagged his first stolen bases of the season.

Twin Valley's record is now 11-8. As for Kutztown, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 13-7.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming contests. Twin Valley will take on Penn Manor at 4:15 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Kutztown, they will challenge Northern Lebanon at 4:00 p.m. on the 14th.
