Baseball Recap: Marlboro County Comes Up Short

Marlboro County was the 4-2 winner over Loris when they last played one another back in February of 2024, but their luck changed this time around. The Bulldogs fell 6-1 to the Lions on Tuesday. The Bulldogs' defeat continues a trend for the squad, making it four in a row.

Marlboro County's loss dropped their record down to 1-4. As for Loris, they are on a roll lately: they've won five of their last six contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 8-4 record this season.

Loris will welcome Mullins at 6:30 p.m. on Wednesday. The timing is sure in the Lions' favor as the team sits on three straight wins at home while the Auctioneers have been banged up by seven consecutive losses on the road. Marlboro County will be paying especially close attention to Loris' matchup: after Loris faces off against Mullins, they'll take on Marlboro County again at 6:30 p.m. on Friday.
