Volleyball Game Preview: Kim/Branson Mustangs vs. Holly Wildcats

The Kim/Branson Mustangs will challenge the Holly Wildcats at 3:00 p.m. on Saturday. Kim/Branson has now lost seven straight, leaving the team hunting for their first win since August 21.

On Friday, Kim/Branson didn't have quite enough to beat Deer Trail and fell 3-2.

In a back-and-forth that saw neither team win consecutive sets, Kim/Branson sadly dropped the once that decided the match. The match finished with set scores of 25-18, 21-25, 25-10, 19-25, 15-8.

Meanwhile, Holly came up short against South Baca [Campo/Vilas/Pritchett] on Thursday, falling 3-0. The Wildcats have struggled against the Patriots recently, as the game was their seventh consecutive lost matchup.

The match was exciting from start to finish, as two sets needed extra rallies to gain a two-point lead. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 28-26, 26-24, 25-19.

Holly's defeat dropped their record down to 3-7. As for Kim/Branson, their loss dropped their record down to 1-7.

Kim/Branson might still be hurting after the 3-0 defeat they got from Holly in their previous matchup back in October of 2024. Can the Mustangs avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
