Spencer Cain commands the offense for Titans win

It may have taken overtime to finish the job, but the Tome Titans ultimately got the result they hoped for on Tuesday. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 64-62 win over Providence Christian Academy. The victory was a breath of fresh air for Tome as it put an end to their three-game losing streak.

Tome's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Spencer Cain, who dropped a double-double on 13 points and 11 rebounds. Cain has been hot recently, having posted two or more blocks the last four times he's played. Ethan Griffith was another key contributor, scoring 13 points along with four steals.

When it comes to explaining why Providence Christian Academy lost, one person who can't be blamed is Bryce Unruh. Despite the final result, he scored 23 points along with nine assists and seven steals. That was a full 37.1% of Providence Christian Academy's points, marking the third time in a row he's earned more than a third of the team's points. Another player making a difference was Ethan Burrows, who scored 20 points along with six rebounds.

Tome's win bumped their record up to 8-4. As for Providence Christian Academy, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 7-6.

Tome will play host again and welcome Fellowship of Christian Athletes, where tip off is scheduled for 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Providence Christian Academy on the road again on Thursday and play against Perry Hall Christian at 4:45 p.m. on January 25th. That game will pit two of the most dominant guards against one another: Kaheem Griffin and Unruh.
