Baseball Recap: Oak Ridge Gets the Win

Oak Ridge took a six-run loss the last time they faced off against Rocklin, but this time they managed to keep it close and that made all the difference. The Trojans had just enough and edged out the Thunder 2-1. This was payback for the Trojans, who suffered a 6-0 defeat the last time these two teams met.

Jackson Molloy spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered a run (which was unearned) on one hit. Oak Ridge is 4-1 when Molloy allows three or fewer hits, but 7-13 otherwise.

On the hitting side, Oak Ridge secured the win behind a pair of hitters. One of them was Matt Burns, who went 1-for-2 with one run.

The victory snapped Oak Ridge's losing streak at three games and leaves them with a 11-14 record. As for Rocklin, their loss ended a six-game streak of away wins and brought them to 20-6.

The teams didn't have to wait long for a rematch: the Thunder beat Oak Ridge by a score of 9-6 on Tuesday.
