Recap: Jonesboro Eagles vs. Evant Elks
The Jonesboro Eagles had already won seven in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 49.7 points), and they went ahead and made it eight on Thursday. They took their contest on the road with ease, bagging a 62-6 win over Evant. Given Jonesboro's advantage in MaxPreps' Texas football rankings (they are ranked 11th, while Evant is ranked 248th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Jacob Cisneros continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines, throwing for 49 yards and two touchdowns while completing 100% of his passes, and also punching in a touchdown on the ground. DeMarcus Acoff also deserves a shout-out for his two touchdowns.
Jonesboro's victory was their fifth straight on the road , which pushed their record up to 9-1. As for Evant, they still haven't won a game yet this season and fell to 0-10.
Jonesboro will head out on the road to face off against Robert Lee at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday. One thing working in Robert Lee's favor is that they have now posted big point totals every time they've taken the field this season. Evant does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
