Basketball Game Preview: Piscataquis Pirates vs. Penobscot Valley Howlers

The Piscataquis Pirates will wrap up 2024 with a road trip to face off against the Penobscot Valley Howlers at 5:00 p.m. on Monday. Both have had a bumpy ride up to this point with four consecutive losses for Piscataquis and five for Penobscot Valley.

Piscataquis came up short against Valley on Monday, falling 76-51.

Meanwhile, Penobscot Valley came up short against Stearns on Friday and fell 38-30. The matchup marked the Howlers' lowest-scoring contest so far this season.

Penobscot Valley's defeat dropped their record down to 1-6. As for Piscataquis, their loss dropped their record down to 1-4.

Piscataquis didn't have too much breathing room in their game against Penobscot Valley in their previous matchup back in January, but they still walked away with a 44-40 victory. The rematch might be a little tougher for Piscataquis since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
