Softball Game Preview: Farmersville Farmers vs. Trenton Tigers

The Farmersville Farmers will challenge the Trenton Tigers at 11:50 a.m. on Thursday. Expect the scorekeeper to be kept busy: if their previous games are any indication, the two teams will really light up the scoreboard.

Farmersville is headed in fresh off scoring the most runs they have all season. They fell 13-10 to Anna on Tuesday. The defeat continues a trend for the Farmers in their matchups with the Coyotes: they've now lost three in a row.

Alyssa Smith stepped up to lead a balanced group of hitters: she scored three runs and stole two bases while going 1-for-3. That's the most runs she has posted since back in March of 2024. Bella Holland was another key player, going 1-for-4 with two runs and one triple.

Meanwhile, everything went Trenton's way against Tioga on Tuesday as Trenton made off with a 15-3 win. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Tigers.

Trenton pushed their record up to 2-0 with the victory, which was their tenth straight at home dating back to last season. They've dominated over that stretch too, winning by an average of 11.3 runs. As for Farmersville, they now have a losing record of 2-3-2.
