Softball Recap: Seventy-First Takes a Loss

Seventy-First was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their third straight loss. They came up short against the Jack Britt Buccaneers, falling 17-2. The Falcons were not able to make up for their defeat to the Buccaneers from their previous meeting back in April of 2024.

Seventy-First saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Aaliyah Walker, who scored a run and stole a base while going 2-for-2. Sa'Niah Mays also deserves some recognition as she brought in her first RBI of the season.

Seventy-First's loss dropped their record down to 1-3. As for Jack Britt, they are on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five games. That's provided a nice bump to their 5-3 record this season.

Seventy-First will be defending their home field for the first time this season when they go up against Purnell Swett at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Jack Britt, they will challenge Cape Fear at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Cape Fear will roll in looking for their eighth straight victory, something Jack Britt surely won't give up without a fight.
