The West Plains Wolves will square off against the Liberty Christian Warriors at 6:30 p.m. on Friday. Expect the scorekeeper to be kept busy: if their previous games are any indication, these teams will really light up the scoreboard.
Liberty Christian will square off against a team with plenty of momentum: West Plains extended their winning streak to four last Friday. The Wolves never let Bushland get on the board and left with a 45-0 win. Given the Wolves' advantage in MaxPreps' Texas football rankings (they are ranked 91st, while the Falcons are ranked 369th) , the win wasn't entirely unexpected.

REID MACON produced another solid effort throwing for 312 yards and five TDs while picking up 13.6 yards per attempt. Those five passing touchdowns gave him a new career-high. LAWSON BETANCOURT also helped with two scores in total.
West Plains didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off three passes before the game was over. The picks came courtesy of BOSTON LADD and KANE WHITE-TINSLEY. LADD got in on the action too, converting a pick into a touchdown.
Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Liberty Christian). They blew past Trinity Christian, posting a 63-17 victory. The Warriors haven't had any issues with the Trojans recently, as the game was their sixth consecutive win against them.
West Plains better focus on containing Quinn Murphy and Correll Buckhalter as the pair were huge in Liberty Christian's win. Murphy threw for 332 yards and five touchdowns while completing 82.4% of his passes, while Buckhalter gained 157 total yards and three touchdowns. Buckhalter was no stranger to the big play, turning on the jets for a run that went for 59 yards. Graham Nixon also helped out as he racked up 106 receiving yards.
Wins are hard to come by when you can't run the rock, something Liberty Christian proved: they limited Trinity Christian to a paltry 2.5 yards per carry. The team can thank Cooper Witten for the heroic effort on defense: he. Liberty Christian didn't have any issues in that department, having averaged 9.2.
Liberty Christian's defense didn't let the opposing QB, get away unscathed either: they got into the backfield for three sacks. The team can thank three different players for their defensive prowess: Witten, Ndi Etta, and Caleb Glen, who each picked up one sack apiece. Liberty Christian received some extra help from Witten, whose fumble return for a touchdown made for one of the most unforgettable moments.
The victory got Liberty Christian back to even at 2-2. As for West Plains, their record now sits at 4-0.
The upcoming game will be a clash of competing strengths. West Plains has deployed a run-first offense that has averaged 227.8 rushing yards a game. Meanwhile, Liberty Christian has preferred to attack from the air: they average 288.8 passing yards per game. So which strategy will prevail on Friday? There's only one way to find out.
West Plains was dealt a bruising 56-7 defeat at the hands of Liberty Christian in their previous matchup back in October of 2024. That matchup was all but decided by halftime, at which point the Wolves were down 35-7.
