Basketball Recap: Andrean Takes a Loss

Andrean came up into this matchup off a tough 29-point defeat on Friday. This time they kept things ultra-competitive, but unfortunately the final result was the same. They fell just short of the Rushville Lions by a score of 42-40 on Friday. If the Fighting 59ers were looking for revenge after losing 37-27 to them when the teams met, then they'll just have to keep looking.

Despite the loss, Andrean still got an impressive performance from Maddie Walton, who went 11 for 14 on her way to 25 points. That's the most points Walton has posted since back in January of 2024. Aubrey Grasha was another key player, putting up five points.

Rushville's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Leonie Boyer, who posted 12 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Gracie Buzzard, who had seven points.

Andrean now has a losing record at 6-7. As for Rushville, the win got them back to even at 7-7.

Andrean wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next match, a 46-36 loss against Fort Wayne Bishop Dwenger on the 28th. As for Rushville, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 59-19 defeat against Floyd Central on the 28th.
