Basketball Recap: Monterey Comes Up Short

Monterey was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their fourth straight loss. They fell 74-62 to the Coronado Mustangs. The Plainsmen were not able to repeat the success they had when they faced the Mustangs earlier this season, when they won 53-51.

Monterey's defeat dropped their record down to 14-19. As for Coronado, they have been performing well recently as they've won five of their last six matchups, which provided a massive bump to their 12-18 record this season.

Coming up, Monterey will be playing at home against Plainview at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Coronado, they will square off against Amarillo at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Amarillo will roll in looking for their 15th straight win, something Coronado surely won't give up without a fight.
