Basketball Recap: Independence Comes Up Short

Independence suffered their closest loss since January 26th on Friday. They fell just short of the Panther Creek Panthers by a score of 43-40. The match marked the Knights' lowest-scoring game so far this season.

Leading Panther Creek to victory were JAELEN BLOCK-HILL and SENTEL SIMPSON. BLOCK-HILL posted 11 points and five rebounds, while SIMPSON earned eight points and five rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of XAVIER RAINWATER, who had six points and three steals.

Independence's defeat dropped their record down to 7-4. As for Panther Creek, their victory was their sixth straight on the road dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 8-6.

Independence wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next contest, a 51-41 loss against McKinney North on the 12th. As for Panther Creek, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next match, a 77-69 defeat against Lone Star on the 10th.
