Basketball Recap: Pace Comes Up Short

Pace managed to keep up with Gulf Breeze until halftime on Friday, but things quickly went downhill from there. The Pace Patriots might have been a little too into the holiday spirit, gifting the Gulf Breeze Dolphins an easy 66-40 victory. The Patriots were not able to make up for their defeat to the Dolphins from their previous meeting back in February.

Leading Gulf Breeze to victory were Roman Jackson and Hutson Rowe. Jackson went 7 for 11 on his way to 20 points, while Rowe went 8 of 17 on his way to 17 points and four steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Michael Bailey, who posted eight points and six rebounds.

Pace dropped their record down to 1-10 with the loss, which was their sixth straight on the road dating back to last season. As for Gulf Breeze, the win (which was their fifth in a row) raised their record to 11-1.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Pace and Booker T. Washington will compete for holiday cheer at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. Gulf Breeze and Northview Academy will round out the year against one another at at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
