Baseball Recap: Moreno Valley Gets the Win

Moreno Valley won the last time they faced Hemet and things went their way on Thursday too. The Vikings walked away with a 9-5 victory over the Bulldogs. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Vikings.

J. Chavez tossed a big game, pitching 5.1 innings while giving up just one earned (and four unearned) runs off four hits.

On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on E. Zendejas, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with two stolen bases, two runs, and one RBI. That's the most runs he has posted since back in March. The team also got some help courtesy of EJ Jaramillo, who went 1-for-3 with three RBI, two runs, and one stolen base.

Moreno Valley's record now sits at 12-8. As for Hemet, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost nine of their last 12 contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 8-12 record this season.

Moreno Valley has already played their next game, a 9-2 win against Tahquitz on the 21st. As for Hemet, they will be playing at home against Citrus Hill at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (the Bulldogs 4.1, the Hawks 2.5) so any runs scored will be well earned.
