Softball Recap: Denfeld Hunters vs. Hibbing Bluejackets
Denfeld fought the good fight in their extra-innings contest against Hibbing on Thursday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They fell just short of the Bluejackets by a score of 11-10. The Hunters haven't had much luck with the Bluejackets recently, as the team has come up short the last three times they've met.
Denfeld got a massive performance out of Ellie Davis, who got on base in three of her five plate appearances with three runs, one stolen base, and one double. Bridgette Vegar was another key player, going 2-for-4 with two runs, one triple, and two RBI.
Denfeld's loss dropped their record down to 1-9. As for Hibbing, they now have a winning record of 5-4.
Denfeld didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next game, a 15-0 defeat against Rock Ridge co-op [Eveleth-Gilbert/Virginia] on the 8th. As for Hibbing, they also wasted no time getting back out on the field and have already played their next matchup, an 11-1 loss against Greenway/Nashwauk-Keewatin on the 9th.
