Baseball Recap: Carson's Losing Streak Is a Thing of the Past

Carson came into Friday's contest having lost six straight, but that streak is now in the rearview. They had just enough and edged out the Long Beach Poly Jackrabbits 6-4.

The team relied heavily on Kris Sinclair, who went 1-for-2 with one triple and two RBI. That triple marked the first that he hit this season. Another player making a difference was Juno Carillo, who scored a run and stole a base while going 1-for-3.

Carson's first win this season bumped their record up to 1-5. As for Long Beach Poly, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 2-6.

Carson and Long Beach Poly could both be facing uphill battles in their next games considering their disadvantage in the MaxPreps California Rankings. Carson will challenge Lakewood at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday down 290 places (434 vs. 144). Carson has given up an average of 7.3 runs per game this season, so hopefully the team got some pitching drills in this week. Similarly, Long Beach Poly (ranked 344th) will meet Downey (ranked 115th) at 3:15 p.m. on Monday.
