Baseball Recap: Millbrook Pioneers vs. Skyline Hawks

Millbrook had lost five straight on the road, but on Wednesday they dropped their record down to 6-10 to make it six. They took a 4-1 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Skyline Hawks. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Hawks this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 3-2 back in April.

As for Skyline, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 10-7. Those victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered a grand total of 2 run in those games.

For Skyline's part, Mark Jeffries was excellent, going 2-for-3 with one stolen base, two RBI, and one run. That's the most RBI Jeffries has posted since back in March. Another player making a difference was Izaiah Matthews, who went 1-for-3 with one run, one double, and one RBI.

Coming up, Skyline is taking a road trip to square off against Meridian at 6:30 p.m. on Monday. Millbrook will be paying especially close attention to the Hawks' match: after the Hawks face off against Handley, they'll take on Millbrook again at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
