Baseball Recap: Central Cabarrus Snaps Five-Game Streak of Losses on the Road

Central Cabarrus came out on top against Concord on Friday thanks in part to the team's impressive eight-run fourth inning. The Vikings walked away with a 9-5 victory over the Spiders. This was a revenge game for the Vikings: when they faced off against the Spiders back in March, they had to take a 3-2 defeat.

Garret Black was incredible, going 2-for-3 with one home run, three RBI, and two runs. He is becoming a predictor of Central Cabarrus' success: when he posts at least three RBI the team is 3-1 (and 4-13 when he doesn't). Nicholas Towery was another key player, getting on base in all three of his plate appearances with two runs.

Central Cabarrus' win ended a five-game drought on the road and puts them at 7-14. As for Concord, their record is now 7-16.

As of now, neither Central Cabarrus nor the Spiders have any future games scheduled.
