Baseball Recap: Yerington Extends Road Winning Streak to Ten

The scorekeeper got an easy start on Saturday as neither Yerington nor Sierra Lutheran made it on the board until the fifth inning. The Lions never let the Falcons get on the board and left with a 4-0 win. The Lions haven't had any issues with the Falcons recently, as the game was their fifth consecutive victory against them.

Alexis Martinez made a splash while hitting and pitching. He tossed 1.1 innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. He has been consistent: he hasn't given up more than one earned run in eight consecutive appearances. He was also solid in the batter's box, going 1-for-3 with two stolen bases and one run.

In other pitching news, the result came thanks to Brent Brinkley's shutout, as he gave up just five hits and racked up eight Ks. He has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up more than one earned run in three consecutive appearances.

Martinez wasn't the only one making solid contact as four players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was Valor Angle, who went 1-for-3 with one double.
