Softball Recap: Hooks Now 13-3 over Last 16 Games

Hooks had already proven themselves in the regular season and they didn't miss a beat now that it's playoff time. They blew past the New Diana Eagles 15-3 on Friday. The Hornets might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won 15 matchups by six runs or more this season.

Darla Jones tossed a big game, pitching six innings while giving up just one earned (and two unearned) runs off five hits. What's more, she posted four strikeouts, the most she's had since back in March.

At the plate, the team relied heavily on Zoey Greenwood, who went 3-for-5 with one home run, five RBI, and three runs. What's more, she posted two doubles, the most she's had since back in March. Addison Castle was another key player, going 2-for-4 with two stolen bases, three RBI, and two runs.

Hooks has been performing well recently as they've won 13 of their last 16 games. That's provided a nice bump to their 23-8 record this season. Those victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 12.0 runs over those games. As for New Diana, they have been struggling recently as they've lost four of their last five contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 18-11-1 record this season.

As of now, neither Hooks nor New Diana have any future games scheduled.
