The Saint Joseph Jesters will square off against the Long Beach Poly Jackrabbits at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday. Saint Joseph is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 7.8 runs per game this season.

Saint Joseph's pitching crew heads into the contest hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Friday. Everything went their way against St. Anthony as they made off with a 17-0 win. The Jesters haven't had any issues with the Saints recently, as the game was their third consecutive victory against them.

Nicole Bergman looked comfortable as she didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only one hit while striking out nine over four innings pitched.

On the hitting side, Saint Joseph got a massive performance out of Julianna Vasquez, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with one home run, three RBI, and two runs. That's the most runs Vasquez has posted since back in February. Another player making a difference was Breanna Ochoa, who scored three runs and stole three bases while going 3-for-3.

Saint Joseph hit smart and finished the game with only two strikeouts. The team has now struck out at least five batters in ten consecutive matchups.

For whatever reason, it's the away team that's had the advantage when Long Beach Poly and Lakewood meet (three straight games heading into this one) and that held true again on Thursday. The Jackrabbits took a 9-5 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Lancers.

Saint Joseph's win bumped their record up to 11-8. As for Long Beach Poly, their defeat dropped their record down to 6-4.

Saint Joseph took their victory against Long Beach Poly in their previous meeting back in February of 2017 by a conclusive 10-4 score. Will the Jesters repeat their success, or do the Jackrabbits have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
