Softball Recap: Franklin Academy Comes Up Short

Franklin Academy was not able to break out of their rough patch on Monday as the team picked up their seventh straight defeat. They were two runs away from ending the streak, but they lost an 8-6 heartbreaker at the hands of the East Wake Academy Eagles. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Eagles this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 11-0 two weeks ago.

Paige Shriver made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and went 3-for-4 with two runs, one triple, and two RBI. Iliana Rodriguez was another key player, going 1-for-3 with three RBI.

Franklin Academy's loss dropped their record down to 2-9. As for East Wake Academy, the victory (which was their fourth in a row) raised their record to 5-3.

Franklin Academy wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next match, a 15-11 defeat against Wake Christian Academy on the 15th. As for East Wake Academy, they also didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next game, a 6-1 loss against Wake Prep Academy on the 15th.
