Basketball Recap: Union Grove's Loss Ends Eight-Game Winning Streak at Home

Union Grove entered their contest against Locust Grove on Tuesday without any home losses, but there's a first time for everything. The Union Grove Wolverines fell just short of the Locust Grove Wildcats by a score of 54-51. Sadly, that's the second time they've come up short against the Wolverines this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 52-43 back in December of 2024.

Union Grove's loss ended an eight-game streak of wins at home dating back to last season and dropped them to 9-7. As for Locust Grove, the victory (which was their eighth in a row) raised their record to 11-5.

Union Grove and Locust Grove should be looking forward to their upcoming games as both have a sizable advantage in the MaxPreps Georgia Rankings. Union Grove (ranked 134th) will meet Stockbridge (ranked 292nd) at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Similarly, Locust Grove will face off against Jones County at 8:30 p.m. on Friday up 164 places (150 vs. 314).
