Volleyball Recap: Rice Takes a Loss

Rice was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their tenth straight defeat. They lost 3-0 to the Maypearl Panthers. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Panthers this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 3-0 back in September.

The match finished with set scores of 25-10, 25-20, 25-9.

Maypearl found their leader in freshman Campbell Rendahl, who had six digs and two aces. Rendahl is also on a roll when it comes to assists, as she's now posted 14 or more in each of the last three games she's played. Jaedyn Lamar also deserves some recognition as she served her first aces of the season.

Rice's loss dropped their record down to 10-20. As for Maypearl, with the victory, they broke their four-match losing streak and moved their record to 19-20.

Rice has already played their next matchup, a 3-0 defeat against Blooming Grove on the 14th. As for Maypearl, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next match, a 3-2 loss against Palmer on the 14th.
