Football Recap: Friday's Loss Ends Wolfe City's Winning Streak + How To Watch

After a string of four wins, Wolfe City's good fortune finally ran out on Friday. They fell 50-44 to the Tioga Bulldogs. If the Wolves were looking for revenge after losing 60-36 to the Bulldogs when the teams met back in November of 2024, then they'll just have to keep looking.

Despite the loss, Wolfe City still got an impressive performance from Hd Davis, who rushed for 291 yards and two scores. Davis' rushing production has been exceptional for a while as that marked his 20th straight game with at least 110 rushing yards dating back to last season. Brennon Russell was another key player, picking up 86 receiving yards and a pair of TDs.

Tioga's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Kyson Kirkland, who threw for 197 yards and three touchdowns while completing 83.3% of his passes. Another player making a difference was Jaxson Hurst, who picked up 143 receiving yards and a pair of scores.

Wolfe City's loss was their first in the district, dropping their district record down to 4-1 and their overall record down to 5-4. As for Tioga, the victory got them back to even at 4-4.

Coming up, Wolfe City will take on Alvord at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The Bulldogs will roll in looking for their sixth straight win, something the Wolves surely won't give up without a fight. As for Tioga, they will square off against Nocona at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The Bulldogs will be up against the Indians' rather soft defense (which has allowed 41.78 points per game), so fans could be in store for a big offensive performance.
