Recap: Drumright Tornadoes vs. Hominy Bucks
The Drumright Tornadoes came tearing into Saturday's match with five straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 36 points) and they left with even more momentum. They walked away with a 69-61 win over Hominy. Having run the score up that high, both teams might be doing some extra defensive drills very soon.
It was another big night for Joseph Bray, who dropped a double-double on 26 points and 12 rebounds. That makes it 11 consecutive games in which he has scored at least a third of Drumright's points. Jaxson Bolton was another key contributor, scoring 11 points along with seven rebounds.
Drumright's victory was their 16th straight at home, which pushed their record up to 17-1. As for Hominy, their loss dropped their record down to 10-4.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Drumright and Oilton will face off at 8:00 p.m. on January 23rd without much rest after finishing up games yesterday. Oilton knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with flashy point totals in its past three games -- so hopefully Drumright likes a good challenge. As for Hominy, they will be playing at home against Barnsdall at 8:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Barnsdall will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Oklahoma Rankings (they are ranked 372nd, while Hominy is ranked 167th).
