Baseball Recap: Oakland Tech's Winning Streak Snapped at Five Games

It's hard to turn regular season success into postseason wins, a fact Oakland Tech can now relate to. They fell just short of the Santa Clara Bruins by a score of 10-9 on Tuesday. The Bulldogs' loss signaled the end of their five-game winning streak.

Oakland Tech got a good showing from Ben Estow, who struck out six batters over 3.1 innings while giving up just one earned (and three unearned) runs off four hits. What's more, Estow gave up only two walks, the fewest he's had since back in April of 2024.

On the hitting side, Jordan Smith and Hayden Burton stepped up to the plate in a big way. Smith went 1-for-3 with two runs and two RBI, while Burton went 2-for-4 with one run, one double, and one RBI. The team also got some help courtesy of Diego Delgado, who got on base in three of his four plate appearances with one run.

Oakland Tech's defeat dropped their record down to 17-10. As for Santa Clara, the victory was the 19th in a row for them, bringing their record up to 28-3.

As of now, neither Oakland Tech nor the Bruins have any future games scheduled.
