Softball Recap: Tustin Comes Up Short

Tustin was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their fifth straight loss. They lost 7-1 to the Santiago Cavaliers. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Tillers of the 8-7 defeat they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in March of 2022.

Tustin's loss dropped their record down to 1-5. As for Santiago, their victory bumped their record up to 9-2.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Tustin will face off against Godinez Fundamental at 3:15 p.m. on the 15th. The Grizzlies have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 11.56 runs per game on average), something the Tillers will no doubt try to take advantage of. As for Santiago, they are taking a road trip to challenge Santa Ana Valley at 3:15 p.m. on Friday. The Cavaliers' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Falcons have averaged an impressive 9.6 runs per game this season.
