Basketball Recap: Provine Takes a Loss

Provine played a tough match on Friday in which they were outscored in every quarter. They lost 59-39 to the North Pike Jaguars. The Rams were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 38-15.

North Pike found their leader in sophomore Kadence Thompson, who almost dropped a double-double on 17 points and nine rebounds. De'Asia Hudson was another key player, putting up ten points in addition to six boards and six steals.

Provine dropped their record down to 5-12 with the loss, which was their sixth straight on the road. As for North Pike, they are on a roll lately: they've won five of their last six games, which provided a nice bump to their 16-4 record this season.

Provine won't have much time to rest: their next contest is against Vicksburg at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday. As for North Pike, they will challenge South Jones at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. North Pike is facing South Jones at the right time seeing as South Jones is stuck on a four-game losing streak.
