Softball Recap: Chaminade Julienne Catholic Sets Scoring Season-High Against Northridge

Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Chaminade Julienne Catholic). They put the hurt on the Northridge Polar Bears with a sharp 19-7 victory on Saturday. The win was familiar territory for the Eagles, who have now won four matches in a row.

Aubrey Kolton was a major factor while hitting and pitching. She struck out seven batters over three innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. She has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't tossed less than six strikeouts in five consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, going 3-for-5 with one triple, one run, and one RBI.

In other batting news, Mariem Mezni was incredible, going a perfect 4-for-4 with seven RBI, two triples, and two runs. Those four hits gave her a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Lexi Amburgey, who went 2-for-3 with four runs, two stolen bases, and one double.

Chaminade Julienne Catholic always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .650. They are a perfect 3-0 when they post an OBP of .513 or better.

The victory got Chaminade Julienne Catholic back to even at 7-7. As for Northridge, they are on an 11-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-3.
