Volleyball Recap: Westminster Academy Lions vs. Heritage Panthers

There's no place like home for Westminster Academy, who bounced back after a loss on the road last Saturday. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 2-1 victory over the Heritage Panthers on Friday.

If you add up the scores from across all three sets (60-49) Westminster Academy actually scored fewer points, but in the end it didn't matter. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 9-25, 25-22, 15-13.

Amelia Benkendorf paced Westminster Academy's offense, picking up seven kills. Benkendorf got some help from Maddie Rogacki and her 11 assists. Billi Anderson controlled things from the service line, finishing with three aces.

Heritage's loss came despite strong showings from Eva Vuichard and Kyra Davis. Vuichard had 25 assists and five digs, while Davis had eight kills and six digs. Davis is on a roll when it comes to kills, as she's now had eight or more in each of the last nine games she's played.
