The Notre Dame Tigers will challenge the Carlmont Scots at 3:30 p.m. on Monday. The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (Notre Dame has seven straight wins, Carlmont has four straight losses), but none of that matters once you're on the field.
Notre Dame had to skate by with only a two-run margin when they last took the field, which might have inspired the 12-run drubbing they dealt Menlo-Atherton last Tuesday. The Tigers blew past the Bears 13-1. Considering the Tigers have won eight matches by more than five runs this season, Tuesday's blowout was nothing new.
Allison Lui was a major factor no matter where she played. She looked comfortable on the mound, not allowing a single earned run and allowing only one hit while striking out 17 over seven innings pitched. Those 17 strikeouts gave her a new career-high. She was also stellar in the batter's box, going 3-for-5 with three RBI, two runs, and two doubles.

In other batting news, Hailey Truong was incredible, going 3-for-4 with five RBI, three doubles, and one run. Those three doubles gave her a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Claire Kimball, who went 1-for-4 with two RBI, one run, and one double.
Notre Dame kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 12 hits. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Menlo-Atherton only managed one hit.
Meanwhile, Thursday just wasn't the day for Carlmont's offense. They fell just short of Hillsdale by a score of 2-0 on Thursday. That's two games in a row now that the Scots have lost by exactly two runs.
Notre Dame's victory was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 13-3-1. The road wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.0 run on average over those games. As for Carlmont, their defeat dropped their record down to 5-13.
Notre Dame skirted past Carlmont 11-10 in their previous matchup back in March of 2024. Will the Tigers repeat their success, or do the Scots have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
