Basketball Game Preview: Council Grove Braves vs. Rock Creek Mustangs

Council Grove is 1-9 against Rock Creek since December of 2014 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Tuesday. The Council Grove Braves will host the Rock Creek Mustangs at 7:30 p.m. The two teams are strolling into their matches after big wins in their previous games.

Council Grove took a loss when they played away from home on Thursday, but their home fans gave them all the motivation they needed on Friday. Everything went their way against Marion as Council Grove made off with a 66-44 win. The contest was pretty much decided by the half, when the score had already reached 34-13.

Brycen Palmquist continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines, dropping a double-double on 20 points and 15 rebounds. The game was his fourth in a row with at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Reid Buttrey, who posted ten points.

Council Grove was working as a unit and finished the game with 25 assists. That's the most assists they've managed all season.

Meanwhile, Rock Creek had already won two in a row and they went ahead and made it three on Friday. They blew past the Red Raiders 57-37. The Mustangs have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won six matchups by 20 points or more this season.

Council Grove's victory bumped their record up to 10-4. As for Rock Creek, their win bumped their record up to 10-1.
