Perkins County and Paxton are an even 5-5 against one another since January of 2016, but not for long. The Perkins County Plainsmen will head out on the road to challenge the Paxton Tigers at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Perkins County is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 50.8 points per game this season.
Having struggled with four defeats in a row dating back to last season, Perkins County turned things around against Kimball on Friday. They walked away with a 54-44 victory over the Longhorns.

Perkins County found their leader in sophomore Madison Potts, who went 9 for 20 on her way to 24 points. The matchup was Potts' fourth in a row with at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Ella Homan, who went 5 of 12 on her way to 18 points.
Perkins County was working as a unit and finished the game with 17 assists. That's the most assists they've posted since back in December of 2023.
Meanwhile, you're bound to get a positive result if you outscore your opponent every quarter, and that's exactly how it played out for Paxton on Saturday. Given that consistent dominance, it should come as no surprise that they blew Potter-Dix out of the water with a 66-30 final score. The Tigers pushed the score to 53-21 by the end of the third, a deficit the Coyotes had no chance of recovering from.
Perkins County better keep an eye on Jaleigh Hansen. She was instrumental in Paxton's win, going 9 for 13 on her way to 18 points and four steals. Hansen is on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now grabbed three or more in the last three games she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Jordan Clouse, who posted ten points and five steals.
The win got Paxton back to even at 2-2. As for Perkins County, their victory (their first of the season) made their record 1-3.
Rebounding is likely to be a big factor in this contest: Perkins County has been smashing the glass this season, having averaged 33 rebounds per game. However, it's not like Paxton struggles in that department as they've been averaging 26.5 boards. With both teams battling to corral missed shots, we'll see if one team can grab an edge.
Perkins County might still be hurting after the 65-42 loss they got from Paxton in their previous meeting back in December of 2023. Can Perkins County avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
