Baseball Game Preview: Mt. Vernon Marauders vs. New Castle Trojans

For the second straight game, Mt. Vernon will face off against New Castle. The Marauders will be playing at home against the Trojans at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Mt. Vernon's pitching crew has only allowed 3.8 runs per game this season, so New Castle's hitters will have their work cut out for them.

Mt. Vernon's pitching crew heads into the game hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Tuesday. They put the hurt on New Castle with a sharp 9-0 victory. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Marauders.

Not much got past Andrew Boldt, who gave up just two hits and racked up ten Ks to keep New Castle off the board. Boldt also tossed no walks, which is notable because Mt. Vernon is undefeated when he allows at most one walk, but 3-5 otherwise.

At the plate, Bryndan Wylie was a standout: he went 2-for-3 with three runs, two doubles, and one stolen base. Those two doubles gave him a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Ryker Baer, who went 2-for-4 with three stolen bases, two RBI, and one run.
