Basketball Game Preview: Mt. Mansfield Cougars vs. Hartford Hurricanes

The Mt. Mansfield Cougars will head out to square off against the Hartford Hurricanes at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. Keep an eye on the score for this one: both posted some lofty point totals in their previous games.

Last Saturday, Mt. Mansfield beat Colchester 61-53. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Cougars.

Meanwhile, Hartford came tearing into Tuesday's matchup with four straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 21 points) and they left with even more momentum. They claimed a resounding 72-36 victory over the Yellowjackets. The Hurricanes have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won four contests by 30 points or more this season.

Hartford pushed their record up to 8-2 with the win, which was their 15th straight on the road dating back to last season. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 67.2 points per game. As for Mt. Mansfield, they now have a winning record of 6-5.

Mt. Mansfield came up short against Hartford in their previous meeting back in January of 2024, falling 57-46. Can Mt. Mansfield avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
