Warren extended their postseason success on Friday against Prairie Grove. They walked away with a 47-40 victory over the Tigers. Winning may never get old, but the Lumberjacks sure are getting used to it with their fifth in a row.
It was another big night for Jackson Denton, who threw for 299 yards and four touchdowns. He has been hot for a while, having posted three or more passing touchdowns the last nine times he's played.
Loss or not, Prairie Grove got some senior leadership from Elijah Sugg and Blake Coughran. Sugg rushed for 291 yards and a pair of TDs while picking up 7.1 yards per carry, while Coughran rushed for 125 yards and two scores. Those 291 rushing yards set a new season-high mark for Sugg.
Warren's win bumped their record up to 10-3. As for Prairie Grove, the defeat snapped their winning streak at four games and leaves them with a 7-6 record.
Coming up, Warren will challenge Dardanelle at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The Sand Lizards' defense has only allowed 14.2 points per game this season, so the Lumberjacks' offense will have their work cut out for them. Prairie Grove does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
