Soccer Game Preview: Garner vs. Fuquay - Varina

Garner is 0-10 against Fuquay - Varina since March of 2019 but things could change on Wednesday. Garner will challenge Fuquay - Varina at 6:00 p.m.

Garner is headed into Wednesday's contest looking for a big change in momentum after dropping their third straight game on Monday. They took a 2-0 hit to the loss column at the hands of Clayton.

Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Fuquay - Varina). They never let Southeast Raleigh get on the board and left with a 9-0 victory on Monday. Fuquay - Varina haven't had any issues with Southeast Raleigh recently, as the game was their seventh consecutive win against them.

Fuquay - Varina's offense was hitting Southeast Raleigh from everywhere, as six different players booted in a goal. Jaycee Baker led that balanced group of strikers and accounted for two goals all by herself.

Fuquay - Varina pushed their record up to 6-4 with the victory, which was their fourth straight at home. Those wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they scored 19 goals over those four games. As for Garner, their loss dropped their record down to 3-8.

Garner might still be hurting after the 6-0 defeat they got from Fuquay - Varina when the teams last played back in May of 2024. Can Garner avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
