NCSSM: Durham had to skate by with only a one-set margin when they last took the court, which might have inspired the three-set drubbing they dealt Triangle Math & Science on Tuesday. The Unicorns put the hurt on the Tigers with a sharp 3-0 victory. The Unicorns haven't had any issues with the Tigers recently, as the game was their fourth consecutive win against them.

The 3-0 score doesn't show just how dominant NCSSM: Durham was: they took every set by at least 12 points. The match finished with set scores of 25-13, 25-6, 25-13.

Leira Smith paced NCSSM: Durham's offense, picking up seven kills. Smith got some help from Chloe Harnphanich and her 16 assists. Mariam Hassanen controlled things from the service line, finishing with five aces.

NCSSM: Durham's victory bumped their record up to 12-8. As for Triangle Math & Science, they are on a 16-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-14.
