Football Recap: Hixson Comes Up Short + How To Watch

After flying high against Chattanooga Central last Friday, Hixson came back down to earth. The Wildcats fell 27-17 to the Red Bank Lions on Friday. The Wildcats have struggled against the Lions recently, as the game was their seventh consecutive lost matchup.

Red Bank was led to victory by Jacolbi Salley and Austin Jones. Salley rushed for 144 yards, while Jones threw for 123 yards and a pair of touchdowns. Those 144 rushing yards gave Salley a new career-high.

Hixson's loss was their first in the district, dropping their district record down to 2-1 and their overall record down to 3-5. As for Red Bank, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 3-4.

Hixson will have a little extra prep time after the defeat as they won't be playing again for a while. They'll take on East Ridge at 7:00 p.m. on the 24th. As for Red Bank, they have already played their next matchup, a 21-11 win against McMinn County on the 17th.
