Baseball Recap: Plain Dealing Comes Up Short

Plain Dealing fell victim to Haynesville and their airtight pitching crew on Friday. They came up short against the Gldn Tornado, falling 11-0. Having soared to a lofty 24 runs in the game before, the Lions' shutout was a dramatic turnaround.

Cade DeMoss made the most of his time in the batter's box despite the final result and went a perfect 2-for-2 with two stolen bases. He is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as he's now snagged two or more in each of the last six games he's played.

With the defeat, Plain Dealing broke their three-game winning streak and moved their record to 13-12-1. As for Haynesville, with the victory, they broke their four-game losing streak and moved their record to 10-8-1.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Plain Dealing will face off against Homer at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday. The Lions' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Pelicans have averaged an impressive 9.6 runs per game this season. As for Haynesville, they will challenge Ringgold at 5:00 p.m. on Monday. The Redskins have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 9.75 runs per game on average), something the Gldn Tornado will no doubt try to take advantage of.
