Softball Game Preview: Padua Franciscan Bruins vs. North Royalton Bears

Padua Franciscan hasn't had much luck against North Royalton recently, but that could start to change on Saturday. The Bruins are taking a road trip to challenge the Bears at 11:00 a.m. Padua Franciscan has given up an average of 6.6 runs per game this season, but Saturday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.

Padua Franciscan came up short against Elyria Catholic on Thursday, falling 12-1. The Bruins have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Meanwhile, after soaring to 25 runs the game before, North Royalton was a bit more limited in their contest on Friday. They took a 4-1 hit to the loss column at the hands of Revere. The matchup marked the Bears' lowest-scoring game so far this season.

North Royalton's loss ended a nine-game streak of wins at home dating back to last season and dropped them to 8-2. As for Padua Franciscan, their defeat dropped their record down to 4-7.

Padua Franciscan couldn't quite get it done against North Royalton when the teams last played back in April of 2022 as they fell 8-4. Can the Bruins avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
