Baseball Game Preview: Blessed Sacrament-Huguenot Knights vs. Fuqua Falcons

The Blessed Sacrament-Huguenot Knights will venture away from home to square off against the Fuqua Falcons at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday. The last four games Blessed Sacrament-Huguenot has played have been within two runs, so don't be surprised if it's a close one.

Blessed Sacrament-Huguenot will bounce into Thursday's match after beating Amelia Academy, who they had gone 0-9 against in their nine prior meetings. The Knights narrowly escaped with a win as the squad sidled past the Patriots 6-4. The victory was some much needed relief for the Knights as it spelled an end to their three-game losing streak.

The team relied heavily on Parker Metacarpa, who scored a run while going 3-for-4. Those three hits gave him a new career-high. Nathan Danburg was another key player, scoring two runs and stealing a base while going 2-for-4.

Meanwhile, Fuqua was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their third straight defeat. They came up short against Brunswick Academy, falling 10-1.

Blessed Sacrament-Huguenot's win bumped their record up to 4-8. As for Fuqua, their loss dropped their record down to 2-5.

The batters for both teams will have to hit smart on Thursday as both have some strikeout artists on the roster. Blessed Sacrament-Huguenot has been retiring batters left and right this season, having averaged 7.2 strikeouts per game. However, it's not like Fuqua struggles in that department as they've been averaging 7.3 strikeouts. Considering how easily both teams rack up Ks, the hitters on both teams better bring their A-game into this one.

Everything went Blessed Sacrament-Huguenot's way against Fuqua in their previous matchup back in March, as Blessed Sacrament-Huguenot made off with a 12-2 victory. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Knights since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
