Football Recap: Belleville East Lancers vs. Manual Rams
It's hard to turn regular season success into postseason wins, a fact Belleville East can now relate to. They took a 20-14 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Manual Rams. The Lancers were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Rams apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in September.
Belleville East didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off three passes before the game was over. The picks came courtesy of Jane Sanchez and Aliyah Anderson. Anderson is also on a roll when it comes to defended passes, as she's now defended at least one in the last four games she's played.
Among those leading the charge was Breyasia Grayson, who picked up 100 receiving yards and a touchdown. She was even better on defense, making three total tackles (1.0 for loss) and defending three passes in addition to snagging an interception which she returned one-yard for a touchdown.
Belleville East's loss dropped their record down to 10-4. As for Manual, the win (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 4-7.
