Baseball Game Preview: Temple City Rams vs. La Canada Spartans

The Temple City Rams will look to take advantage of their home field for the first time this season as they take on the La Canada Spartans at 3:30 p.m. on Thursday. Both come into the contest bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

Temple City hadn't beaten South Pasadena on the road since April 7, 2022 but that history sure didn't bother them on Monday. Temple City came out on top against South Pasadena by a score of 4-1.

Meanwhile, there's no place like home for La Canada, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Monday. Their pitchers stepped up to hand San Marino a 1-0 shutout on Wednesday. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest win the Spartans have posted since April 4, 2024.

La Canada's victory was truly a team effort as three different players contributed at least one hit. One of them was Will Park, who went 1-for-2 with one stolen base. Park is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as he's now snagged at least one in each of the last four games he's played.

La Canada's win was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 4-7. The wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.7 runs on average over those games. As for Temple City, their victory bumped their record up to 3-6-1.

Temple City came out on top in a nail-biter against La Canada in their previous meeting back in April of 2024, sneaking past 5-3. Will Temple City repeat their success, or does La Canada have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
