Football Game Preview: Bishop Union Broncos vs. Desert Scorpions + How To Watch

The Bishop Union Broncos will square off against the Desert Scorpions at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Bishop Union knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with 31 points or more in their past five contests -- so hopefully Desert likes a good challenge.

Bishop Union's defense heads into the game hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Friday. They breezed past California City to the tune of 43-0. The Broncos haven't had any issues with the Ravens recently, as the game was their sixth consecutive victory against them.

Bishop Union found their leader in sophomore Hunter Dailey, who rushed for 95 yards and one TD on only seven carries. Carlos Sualez also deserves a mention for his punt return touchdown.

On the defensive side of the ball, a lot of the credit has to go to Bishop Union's defense and their four sacks. California City's QB won't forget Brody Berkovatz anytime soon given he sacked him twice. Bishop Union received some extra help from Devaun Mitchell, whose fumble return for a touchdown made for one of the most unforgettable moments.

Special teams was a major factor in the game for Bishop Union, racking up 13 points in total. The biggest highlight from special teams (and perhaps the team as a whole) came courtesy of Sualez, who ran a punt back for a touchdown.

Meanwhile, Desert took a blow against Boron on Friday, falling 44-13. The Scorpions have struggled against the Bobcats recently, as the game was their sixth consecutive lost matchup.

Bishop Union's win bumped their record up to 6-2. As for Desert, their defeat dropped their record down to 0-8.

Everything came up roses for Bishop Union against Desert in their previous meeting back in October of 2024, as the team secured an 85-0 victory. Do the Broncos have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Scorpions turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
